So I decided to do a favor for us all, and purchased the workout plan myself to see whether or not the praise that various reviews were giving it was well deserved. I’m not one to mince words, nor am I easily influenced by flashy words or false testimonials. Kayla Itsines Review
So the first thing you notice when you go over to the Kayla Itsines blog is plenty of believable before-and-after pictures and Kayla stating boldly get her workout is the end-all be-all solution to your desire to lose weight fast. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what I refer to as a major red flag. Anyone who has to advertise their workout plan as being a fast problem solving solution is typically fluffing up the actual merits of it.
I understand why this sometimes works from a commercial point of view, but I was going into this as a person who legitimately one in the program to work for me.
A little back story – even though I decided to purchase this guide to get in on this review, I was also interested in seeing if it weren’t for personal reasons. I am a mother of two, in a busy working one. I don’t have time to run to the Jen for an hour and a half each day (an hour in the gym, and 30 minutes total commuting back and forth). So, I was looking for a program that would allow me to reach my ideal weight in the safety, comfort, and convenience of my home.
And that is why I decided to put my faith into Kayla Itsines.
Who is Kayla Itsines?
Kayla Itsines is a 20 something year old straight out of Australia. She went to the Australian Institute of fitness to get her college education, and studied health and nutritional science. After that experience, she began to work as a personal trainer around her hometown.
It was during this time period that she began to realize that women had common issues with their bodies. She worked to help her clients combat them, she began to compile a list of what worked and what didn’t. Eventually that led to the creation of the bikini body guide. Fast forward to the future. Now, Kayla Itsines is advertising that her guide is the best guide to help women achieve their ideal bikini body in a fast and effective way.
What’s in the Kayla Itsines Guide?
Apparently, Kayla is so confident in her workouts ability to help you that she decided to split in half in charge you for price for both halves. That’s right.
The bikini body guide workout 1.0 contains enough exercises in workouts the last you 12 weeks. A call $70.
Then, the bikini body workout 2.0 contains enough workouts to last you another 12 weeks. It also cost you $70. That’s a total of $140 in order to get the full 24 week program that is known as the “BBG”.
Don’t even get me started on her nutrition guide, a meal plan designed to allow you to eat whatever you want, as long as you eat what she designates keep it around 1600 calories per day.
This is one of the most overpriced workouts I have seen in my life. Quite frankly, at this point I was regretting my decision to try and trusted, but I had already committed to making this blog post reviewing it, and I was also a little desperate to see if she could in fact deliver on what she was promising.
Now, in hindsight (which is always 20/20) I would look into a much cheaper, better alternative – The Jen Ferruggia Bikini Body Workout.
So Kayla created a guide that has some pretty valid information in it. The nutritional guide comes with a vegetarian option, which allows it to cater to people with various eating plan needs. And because she requires that you workout every day, you quickly learn how to adapt to help the fitness habits.
This guide is freaking expensive. She is also divided up was should be one workout into two workouts, a medicine that you can only do each one for 12 weeks. Most other programs are designed to be done year around, but the bikini body guide kicks the idea to the curb.
This also the hidden costs in the guide. Yet the by several pieces of equipment or otherwise purchase a gym membership to complete the workout the way Kayla Itsines describes to you. And since she charges for every piece of this workout, she offers you know complementary material to help you workout, such as instructional videos like Jen Ferruggia gives you for free.

When I finally got to try out the bikini body guide, I was pretty desperate to see some fast results. My overall goal was to lose 35 pounds to get my hourglass figure back. I had some okay results sticking with the BBG, but I initially gave it up when I found myself binging after not being able to stand the calorie restrictions.
It was then that I discovered the bikini body workouts from Jen Ferruggia. Now this was a woman who cared about her customers. With her, you get the full workout, a nutrition guide, instructional videos, and even an added booty blast workout – all for free with the purchase of the initial workout.
After trying out the bikini body guide, this felt like I was being pampered.
Ultimately, the result of this was that I had a relatively easy time setting all the fact that I wanted to. But don’t just take my word for it, looking my results below:

Just a lot more about her customers, and gives you a lot more for your money. Even though her workout is cheaper, you can tell it’s filled with a lot more information, and its generally easy to follow. Plus, for people who have busy lives, Ferrugia’s workout is 4 days a week, versus Kayla’s 7 days a week.
